My Second Inspiration:
Vintage Pin Up Girls (Vargas Girls)
I love art!!
I love looking at paintings and drawings and just taking a moment to stare at a piece
and think about the amount of skill and creative thought it took to come up with this creation.
My favorite type of art is vintage pin up girls, such as the great Vargas girls.
These calendar girls, magazine prints, and poster girls were not only considered art
but they are also one of the earliest stages of modeling.
Plus fashion and women were so important to this form of art.
I love the idea that men during WWII carried around these pieces of art or hung up these calendar girls.
These pin up artworks were still completely innocent and sexy, but not sleazy. And better yet, the clothing was quite important to each picture seeing as it set the tone of the image.
In fact, many of these Varga (or Vargas) girls were cosmetic ads!
Here are a few of my favorite pin up girl artworks:
On that note, the last photo (above) leads me to my next inspiration!
